Mission
The National Native American Fire Chiefs Association unites fire and emergency services leaders from Tribal Nations across the United States to strengthen Tribal fire and EMS capacity through training, advocacy, and mutual support — honoring the sovereignty, culture, and traditions of the communities we serve.
Our vision: a future in which every Tribal Nation has the training, resources, and recognition it needs to protect its people and its land.
About the Association
Built by chiefs, for chiefs, across Indian Country.
NNAFCA connects fire chiefs, deputy chiefs, and EMS leaders serving Tribal Nations, giving them a shared table for training, peer support, and advocacy that individual departments often can't pursue alone.
Tribal fire and EMS agencies face a distinct set of challenges — jurisdictional complexity, federal funding pathways, rural response distances, and workforce pipelines — that this association is organized to address collectively.
Membership is open to chief officers and company officers with executive-level responsibility, and the association is led by an elected board of serving chiefs.

Membership
Join NNAFCA
Who can join: membership is open to any Chief Officer or Company Officer tasked with executive-level duties at a Tribal fire or EMS agency. Company Officers must include a letter of support from their department head as part of their application.
$75per year
Chief Officer
Individual membership for a Chief, Deputy Chief, Division Chief, Assistant Chief, or equivalent.
$50per year
Company Officer
Individual membership for a Company Officer with executive-level duties.
$150per year
Department
One flat due covering the whole department, rather than billing each officer separately.
Dues are due January 1 of each year and are good for that entire calendar year, January 1 through December 31. Membership is not prorated for joining midyear.
